Scooter front brake

The first minutes

  1. Stop and check yourself and everyone else. If there are injuries, do not move the injured person unless you have to.
  2. Get out of the traffic: move the bike to the side or make sure other drivers can see it.
  3. Switch on the hazard lights (if the bike has them), take out the key and do not try to ride a damaged bike.

Who to call

  • 1669: ambulance.
  • 191: police.
  • 1155: tourist police, English-speaking.
  • The rental: message us on WhatsApp or Telegram, the numbers are on the contacts page.

If medical help is needed, call the ambulance first and sort out the rest afterwards.

How to record what happened

Photograph the bike, the scene, the damage, other vehicles’ plates, road signs and markings if it is safe. Note down witnesses’ contact details. Do not argue about fault under pressure and do not sign papers you do not understand: wait for an interpreter or a rental representative. If the incident is serious, always file it with the police: you need that for insurance too.

A breakdown without a crash

If the bike stalls, a tire goes flat or the petrol runs out, stop in a safe place and send us a location pin from your messenger. We will tell you what to do: come and fix it on the spot or swap the model. The swap conditions are described on the rental terms page. Do not have the bike repaired at an unfamiliar workshop without checking with us.

Insurance and costs

What the insurance covers and who pays for damage depends on the circumstances and the contract terms. Details are in the guide “Insurance for rented bikes”. The sooner you tell us about the incident and the more photos you have, the easier it is to sort things out without disputes.

Questions

Do I need to call the police after a small fall with nobody hurt?

If only your own bike is damaged and nobody is hurt, it is enough to message us. If other people, cars or property are involved, call the police.

What should I do if the bike is stolen?

Message us straight away and go to the police: the report is needed for insurance. Do not try to look for the bike yourself.
