Rental overview
The Yamaha NMAX 160 is the more recent version of the popular city maxi-scooter. The 155cc engine, the distinctive sharp front end and the soft suspension will be familiar from the NMAX 155, but the model is newer: pick it if you want the latest NMAX in our fleet.
The riding position is just as steady and neat: the bike holds the road confidently, handles the descents to the beaches well and is comfortable for two. The 7.1 L tank lasts a day of riding. The difference from the NMAX 155 is the model’s age and styling; they ride very similarly.

Who it suits
- riders who want the most recent NMAX
- two-up trips to beaches and viewpoints
- town riding and weekend runs on winding roads
- monthly rental in high season
Who it does not suit
- off-road and dirt tracks
- riders who need a lot of luggage room under the seat
Good to know
- The lively start is easy to feel at traffic lights and in dense traffic.
- The modest weight helps in narrow lanes and when parking.
- The suspension is soft, yet the bike stays composed on winding roads.
How it rides in Phuket
The NMAX 160 is the most recent NMAX in the fleet: the same 155cc engine, the familiar riding position and soft suspension. If you want something newer but do not need a big maxi scooter, it is the natural choice, equally handy in Patong, Karon and on the roads to the southern beaches.
The 7.1 L tank lets you forget about fuel for the day. Two-up it feels confident on climbs, though for long highway runs with luggage an XMAX 300 is a better match.

Questions about this bike
How much does a Yamaha NMAX 160 rental cost in Phuket?
A day costs 450 ฿, a week 2,700 ฿ (about 386 ฿ per day) and a month 8,500 ฿ (about 283 ฿ per day).
Which license do I need for this bike?

Is this model good for two people?
Yes, it has two seats. 15 hp is enough for two around town and on the roads to the beaches, but on steep mountain climbs more powerful models are more comfortable.
What is the practical difference between the NMAX 160 and the NMAX 155?
On the road the difference is small: engine and size are close. The main difference is the age and styling of the model, which is why the NMAX 160 costs a little more.
